Tomatoes should never be refrigerated because it will become wet and lose flavor.

This kind of vegetable comes from hot and desert regions and more suitable than lower temperatures. When tomatoes refrigerate it goes through chemical changes that impair its flavor.

Cooling not only stops the production of new aroma volatile compounds, but also adding to the already existing ones, according to a study of the French National Institute for Agricultural Research.

In addition to the taste of cooling affects the appearance of the tomatoes. The cold separates cell walls in tomatoes from tomato which change their texture.
