Hemorrhoids are associated with constipation and straining at bowel movements. Pregnancy is also associated with hemorrhoids. These conditions lead to increased pressure within the hemorrhoidal veins that causes them to swell. Other conditions, for example chronic liver disease, may also cause increased venous pressure and may be associated with hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are very common and are estimated to occur in up to one-half of the population by age 50.
1) Fiber
Fiber may help to relieve hemorrhoid symptoms and bleeding. Fiber can soften stool and increase its bulk, which helps to reduce straining. Seven randomized trials with a total of 378 participants found that fiber improved symptoms including itching, discomfort, and pain.

2) Bioflavonoids
Bioflavonoids are a type of plant compound found naturally in citrus fruits such as oranges and lemons. Diosmin, hesperidin, and oxerutins are the major citrus bioflavonoids. Thought to stabilize and strengthen veins and capillaries and reduce inflammation, clinical trials suggest that bioflavonoids may reduce bleeding, discomfort and pain during acute hemorrhoid flare-ups and also help symptoms between flare-ups.
Hesperidin (and possibly the other citrus bioflavonoids) have the potential to interact with many medications such as anticoagulants, antiplatelets, blood pressure medication, and CNS depressants, so it's important to consult your primary care provider.
3) Apple Cider Vinegar
Using apple cider vinegar is one of the most popular natural treatments for hemorrhoids. Simply soak a cotton ball or some toilet paper with ACV and apply it to the hemorrhoid area. Repeat this process until the inflammation disappears and symptoms resolve. You should see improvement instantly. Alternatively, add some ACV (half a cup) to a sitz bath.
4) Coconut Oil
Apply coconut oil directly to hemorrhoids, rinse and repeat. In addition to symptoms subsiding, the hemorrhoids should disappear over the course of just a few days.
5) Aloe Vera
As with the above treatments, simply apply aloe vera to the affected area to relieve symptoms.
6) Use topical treatments.
Apply an over-the-counter hemorrhoid cream or suppository containing hydrocortisone, or use pads containing witch hazel or a numbing agent.
7) Soak regularly in a warm bath or sitz bath.
Soak your anal area in plain warm water 10 to 15 minutes two to three times a day. A sitz bath fits over the toilet. You can get one at most drugstores.
8) Keep the anal area clean.
Bathe (preferably) or shower daily to cleanse the skin around your anus gently with warm water. Soap isn't necessary and may aggravate the problem. Avoid alcohol based or perfumed wipes. Gently dry the area with a hair dryer after bathing.
9) Don't use dry toilet paper.
To help keep the anal area clean after a bowel movement, use moist towelettes or wet toilet paper that doesn't contain perfume or alcohol.
10) Apply cold.
Apply ice packs or cold compresses on your anus to relieve swelling.
